Fall 2024
My Eagle Scout Project was working with the Grantham Memorial Park Association, planting tri-colored dogwood trees to replace older trees that were cut down around one edge of the cemetery. Along with scheduling and various preparations, work was broken down into three main days. Day one included using a hydraulic auger to prepare the tree sites. Day two was removing the loose soil, setting the trees in place and adding a peat moss mixture. The last day included edging a 6 foot wide diameter, mulching, staking the trees and adding a water bag for hydration. Follow up work included adding a cage for deer deterrent and watering. Over the three days around 50 people helped to make the project a success and included classmates, scouts, friends, family, and the Grantham Memorial Park Association. ~ MichaelÂ
